HMC Celebrates Volunteers!
April 21, 2015

Hopedale Medical Complex celebrates our volunteers during National Volunteer Month. There are many things at Hopedale that would not be possible if it were not for our many dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers help with things from greeting patients in the hospital, playing games with our residents in the nursing home and Hopedale Commons, running the gift shop, escorting residents around campus, and helping with special events.
With dedicated volunteers, it allows the Hopedale Medical Foundation to provide better services for our patients by reducing the amount of paid employees that the hospital would otherwise have to have. Our volunteers go above and beyond to help meet the needs of Hopedale Medical Complex.
In 2014 the volunteers contributed a total of 3,303 hours. 1,662 hours of volunteering in the Hopedale Commons, 1,166 hours of escorting, 475 hours helping in the nursing home. The average volunteer hours per month were 275 hours.

We are extremely grateful for the wonderful volunteers that we have at Hopedale. On Thursday, April 16th, a volunteer luncheon was held at White Fence Estate to honor all of our volunteers for the contributions they make. Volunteers were all given a special gift from Commons Director, Cynthia Noreuil and many volunteers left the luncheon with great door prizes.
