Hopedale Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Honors Student Athletes

Hopedale, IL – Hopedale Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine (HRSM), located within the Hopedale Wellness Center, recognizes the following student athletes for their outstanding accomplishments in academics, community service, and athletic performance.

Fourth Quarter – 2012:

Erin Rankin, a senior at Hartsburg-Emden High School, was selected HRSM Student Athlete of the Month for October 2012. Hartsburg-Emden’s Athletic Director, Matt Stoltzenberg, had this to say about Rankin: “Erin is great in and out of the classroom. She exemplifies what a student/athlete should be. She sets a great example for our younger kids.” Rankin, who is active in volleyball and softball, maintains a 3.64 GPA.

Maddison Zimmer, a senior at Delavan High School, was selected HRSM Student Athlete of the Month for November 2012. Ryon Kramer, Delavan’s Athletic Director, nominated Zimmer. “Maddison is a great leader and role model, not only in our school, but in the Delavan community; she’s an extremely hard worker who puts the most into everything she does,” said Kramer. Zimmer, who participates in cross country and track, maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Garrett Kelson, a senior at Olympia High School, was selected HRSM Student Athlete of the Month for December 2012. Olympia’s Head Wrestling Coach, Pete Cleary, nominated Kelson stating: “Garrett is a great athlete, student, and person.” Kelson participates in wrestling and football, coaches freshman youth wrestling, and holds a 3.57 GPA.

HRSM will honor all 2012-2013 winners at the HRSM Student-Athlete of the Year Luncheon scheduled for May 2013 at the Hopedale Wellness Center Gym. In addition, every 2012-2013 HRSM Student-Athlete will be eligible to win a $1000 Scholarship which will be awarded at the luncheon. The HRSM team consists of Certified Athletic Trainers who provide education, prevention, and care for athletes of all ages, at every level of competition. It proudly serves five area high schools—Dee-Mack, Delavan, Hartsburg-Emden, Olympia, and Tremont—to provide care for sports-related injuries. The Hopedale Wellness Center is located in Hopedale at the Hopedale Medical Complex which is 10 miles south of Morton, off Interstate 155.
