RENEWED HOPE for those dealing with life's challenges

Hopedale, IL – Many seniors struggle with various difficult issues as they age, including finances, changing family dynamics, the death of a spouse, terminal illness, depression, and loneliness, to name a few.

Hopedale Medical Complex has a new program designed to help our seniors cope with these issues, known as ‘Renewed Hope’. In an effort to inform the community about what Renewed Hope can do to help, HMC is hosting a series of educational discussions on various topics , including the following:

Growing Older is a Downer!

Wednesday, May 2- Topic: DEPRESSION

FREE Lunch and Learn. Discussion will center around how depression is different for seniors than for younger people, and how to differentiate depression from dementia. Lunch provided. RSVP by April 30th.

Wednesday, May 9- Topic: GRIEF

FREE Tea time talk. Discussion will look at the necessity of grief, an overview of the stages, and an exploration of taking care of ourselves as we let ourselves grieve. Beverages and tasty snacks provided. RSVP by May 7

Wednesday, May 16- Topic: CAREGIVING

FREE Tea time talk. We will discuss the stresses and strains of being a caregiver, and how to keep ourselves healthy as we care for others. Beverages and tasty snacks provided. RSVP by May 14

Wednesday, May 23- Topic: IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU (taking care of yourself)

FREE Tea time talk. The stresses of everyday life test our resilience, and learning new ways to effectively cope with these stresses can help us from developing serious ailments.  Beverages and tasty snacks provided. RSVP by May 21

FREE Tea time talk. We are our own worst enemy, constantly criticizing ourselves internally. Ways of stopping and challenging negative self-talk will be explored. Beverages and tasty snacks provided. RSVP by May 28

Each talk will take place at the Hopedale Wellness Center Conference Room located at: 222 NW Grove, Hopedale, IL
